Chief Financial Officer, Joule Assets
Mark Brown has been working in finance for almost three decades, including twenty years of hedge fund experience, where he served as Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and head of various operations groups. Prior to Joining Joule, Mark was Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer for Tiger Pacific Capital, LP, a pan-Asia equity long/short hedge fund based in New York. He was primarily responsible for all internal processes and controls, including finance, administration, compliance, legal, and operations. He was also tasked with building world-class control processes for a start-up fund, as well as establishing a legal framework and counterparty agreements. Previously, Mark was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of GLS Capital, a $750 million global emerging market hedge fund based in London; Chief Financial Officer of Strativarius Capital Management, a global marcro hedge fund in New York; and Head of GlobalOperations and then Treasurer for Goldman Sachs' Hedge Fund Strategies Group. During his nine years at Goldman, Mark served in many roles across operations and treasury functions, managing a large group supporting Goldman's world-wide alternative assets strategy. Mark earned a B.S. in accounting from the University of Illinois.
